Data Sources & Attributions

Effective 12 April 2026

PlanInsight is an aggregation layer over publicly available Australian government, council, and community data sources. This page lists the data sources we draw on and the licences under which that data is made available. The attribution and licence obligations on this page flow through to users of the Service under clause 4 of our Terms of Service.

If you believe a source is missing, incorrectly attributed, or listed in error, please contact us at hello@planinsight.com.au.

Before You Dig Australia (BYDA)

Underground utility asset information displayed through PlanInsight is obtained via Before You Dig Australia. BYDA is a free national referral service that connects excavators with asset owners. Information displayed through PlanInsight is for informational and early-stage planning purposes only and is not a substitute for a current, independently lodged BYDA enquiry. Before any excavation, lodge your own enquiry at byda.com.au.
